I may have been confused by the plot of the last four episodes of season 4, but that didnt mean a hillbilly when i caught
last night episode of the new season. For the first half of the season opener, we had CSI Rio, and for a CSI, it was more
cinematic than its counterparts. It seemed they really wanted to push this one on all stops to get the season off to a dramatic
start. I thoroughly enjoyed Horatio's grand entrance at the top of the Rio famous landmark, a bit over dramatic for a CSI,
but it gave the viewer a good head start and a preview of what is to come for the episode and future plot lines.
We also have a new team member, flawed as any CSI character and she has the worst first day on the job ever (better than
me starting my first day on a job with serious food poisoning).
And could we also maybe see the return on an old character, the wife of Horatio's deceased brother Ray?
Also, watch out for usual CSI traits, where the background characters that are often stuck in the labs (the geeks/lab
technicians we all adore), may also and hopefully get to develop their own storyline, as we have seen in CSI Vegas
where the geeks come together as a collective to try to solve the Miniature Dolls murders, and of course in the season
finale of New York where one of their lab techs has his first day out as a hostage.
