Jack found himself rather lost than arrived, when he came across a strange town often associated with something you find in a scary movie or an episode of X-Files..

 

Anyway, things become very topsy turvy in his world as far as physics is concerned. But the locals are more than welcome to assist the stray Marshal, giving him and his daughter a warm reception.

 

Allison Blake, currently going through the motions of a divorce with Nathan Stark. Allison is the government liaison officer for Eureka. She is also is a single working mother of one boy, who happens to be some kind of child prodigy.

 

Nathan Stark, i am not sure whether he is the bad guy of the piece or a good guy. He is though, a Nobel Prize Mathematician, and the head researcher at Eureka's main facility Global Dynamics. He has become the main rival for Jack Carter, who strikes a 'friendship' with the lovely Allison Blake. 

 

That's the love triangle sorted, now for the other locals.

 

Of course, a show is not a show without its counsellor. Each character on TV seems to need to see a shrink, even the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation had their own counsellor onboard their wessel. Anyways, back down on planet Earth and in the town of Eureka, the local shrink Beverley Barlow is keeping her cards close to her chest, working undercover for an outside influence, not clear if it is the U.S government or some other scrupulous organisation that is keeping a close scrutiny on the goings on in the labs of Eureka. Her previous resume lists her clients as international dignitaries, head of states and celebrities.

 

During Jack's first year in Eureka, he had struck a friendly bond with the local mechanic, Henry Deacon, who  fixed his motor vehicle when he first crashed onto the scene in the pilot episode. Henry had a lost love, Kim Anderson, whom he found again, then lost it again in the season finale. He and Jack are both left now left with the memory of an alternative future of four years. Season Two sees him wanting revenge, away from his garage and working as one of the main researchers in the labs.

 

Jo Lupo, well, all i can say, dont mess with this chic. She is the Sheriff's Deputy, and former U.S.Army Ranger. There is a hint of a romance in an alternative future between her and local nutball Jim Taggert, (cannot decide if it is a bad Aussie accent from the actor Matt Frewer).

 

Taggert is the hunter, or the official Eureka assigned 'biological containment specialist'.

 

Nathan's executive assistant Douglas Fargo blessed with great intelligence but cursed with a crummy job.

 

Also, in the town of Eureka, you can stop off for breakfast, lunch, dinner, at the local cafe served by the friendly proprieter Vincent.
