Forensic experts and Chesapeake Police are asking for the public's
assistance in identifying the body of a black male. The body was spotted by a tug boat captain near the Jordan Bridge on September
4th. The cause of death remains unknown.
Experts are hoping a facial reconstruction will put a face to the body. NCIS Special Agent Ed Gardner, a forensic artist,
is working hard creating sketches and sculptures of what the man may have looked like. He's been using clay, shaped
over the man's skull to reconstruct a face that was once there.
It's not an easy task, considering the man has been deceased since 2006. Apparently the man's body had been afloat in the
water for a week before he was discovered. He was unclothed and wearing a Ferrari watch. The man had no unique markings or
physical characteristics to help identify him.
Detective T. Downing was assigned to the case and after sifting through numerous missing person's reports he came up empty
handed. What's sad is that this man has family and friends somewhere worrying and wondering what happened to him.
Gardner has provided invaluable assistance in this case and is hoping the sketches and molds he's created will trigger
the memory of someone - somewhere.
